Monday 29th November 2010

Specialist magazine printers Warners (Midlands) plc has signed a service agreement with J&G Environmental, the Blandford-based specialists in the recycling and disposal of printers' waste.

J&G will collect all general print waste including litho plates, chemicals and containers, ink tins and cartridges, as well as packaging from Warners print centre in Bourne, Lincolnshire.

"Effective waste management and recycling is important to us in our drive to minimise environmental impact", said Warners commercial manager Mick Ewles.

J&G customer service manager Richard Spreadbury said: "Warners is taking a highly responsible attitude towards its waste disposal which is in line with an increasingly environmental-conscious printing industry".

Warners was established in 1926 and is a specialist magazine printer specialising in niche titles. They offer a full range of services and also have a publishing arm, Warners Group Publications, specialising in outbound and pursuit magazines. They also organise a number of complementary exhibitions aimed at the outdoor leisure and hobby markets.

J&G looks after the waste disposal needs of some 1500 UK print and newspaper publishing companies and has an on-going development programme with the aim of increasing the amount of waste recycled or reused. The figure currently stands at over 90 percent.
