J&G Nominated for Industry Award
Wednesday 28th September 2005
Blandford-based J & G Environmental, who provide environmentally-friendly waste collection and recycling services to the printing industry, have been short-listed for a major industry award.
The company, which already holds a Queen's Award, is one of three short-listed for the Commercial Waste Management Initiative category in the prestigious Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management, to be presented at London's Savoy Hotel on Wednesday, 19 October.
Organised by letsrecycle.com in association with Resource Management and Recovery Magazine and supported, among others, by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, the awards will be opened by shadow environment minister Oliver Letwin, who will make the keynote address in front of an audience of 300 industry representatives. TV presenter Fiona Bruce will host the proceedings.
"To have made it to the short-listed nominees stage is in itself a tremendous achievement," says letsrecycle.com editor Steve Eminton. "We received more than 130 entries for this year's awards, which showcase best practice within the recycling and waste management sector. With the pressure on us all to create a more sustainable environment, J & G can take enormous pride in having reached the final stage of this competition."
