Dorset Company Celebrates Award Success Thursday 13th July 2006
A Blandford-based company has beaten strong competition to carry off a coveted award for outstanding customer service.
J&G Environmental, which collects and recycles waste from hundreds of UK printing factories, was voted Best Printing Industry Supplier in a national awards scheme sponsored by leading industry magazine Printing World.
Award judges named J&G as the printers' supplier achieving most for its customers during the year. Printing World editor Barney Cox said: "J&G won the award against the cream of the industry's suppliers. It brings home the ever-growing importance of the service they offer."
J&G, run by husband and wife team Steve and Julie Armstrong, operates from a 60,000 sq.m. headquarters on Blandford's Holland Way Industrial Estate. It is the only company in Southern England processing every type of printing and photographic waste, three quarters of which is recycled, and already holds a Queen's Award for Sustainable Development.
J&G joint managing director Julie Armstrong said: "We have a long-standing mission to provide an ecologically sound waste management service to the print industry and we're thrilled this has been recognised by the award judges."
The award was presented by comedian Dara O'Briain during a gala dinner held at London's Grosvenor House Hotel attended by printing industry representatives from across the UK.
