Wyndeham Boost For Recycling
Wednesday 1st March 2006

The Wyndeham Press Group, one of the UK's leading print media groups, has awarded a three year waste management contract to J & G Environmental, Blandford-based specialists in the recycling and disposal of printers waste.

In addition to handling the collection, recycling and disposal of all hazardous waste, a feature of the contract is that J & G will also handle redundant fluorescent tubes and IT equipment.

Wyndeham believes that initiatives such as this programme are fundamental to both improving business performance and demonstrating the same commitment to the environment as its customers.

Another important element is the Group's aim to ensure all sites achieve the ISO 14001 environmental quality standard and OHSAS 18001 health and safety standard by the end of 2006.

Wyndeham chief operating officer Roy Kingston said: "I am convinced these standards are essential to show that the group is committed to both improving environmental performance and ensuring the health and safety of employees.

"It is an ambitious but realistic programme and we are pleased to have J & G on board to advise us on all aspects of waste handling."

J&G's comprehensive waste management service is designed to maximise the printing industry's recycling potential. Currently some 85 percent of waste collected by the company is effectively recycled. The target is to recycle 93 percent by 2007.
