It gave me peace of mind when J&G sorted everything out for me with the Environment Agency regarding the new legislation for removal of hazardous waste that came into force last year. We have been working with J&G Environmental, specifically Alan Robinson, since last September. We'd had a problem with our previous supplier who once the new environmental regulations kicked in last summer all but refused to remove our chemical waste. We ended up with a large amount of waste ink and fountain solution and our existing supplier was apparently unwilling to help us solve the problems. We shortlisted several companies to get our chemical waste disposal contract and it was soon clear that J&G were the company for us. J&G stepped in quickly and effectively and within a couple of weeks our waste chemical pile was no more. Since then they have routinely and effectively removed our chemical waste on a fortnightly basis. No longer does waste stack up because its not labelled correctly', Their drivers never fail to be polite and courteous and if there are problems with the load they always work with us towards a solution - and the solutions are always quickly executed.

With J&G it wasn't just a matter of signing a contract and then some subliminal encouragement for us to create more waste (thereby earning them more money), J&G proactively encourage us to improve our waste minimisation techniques. They have audited our processes and work with our managers on chemical waste minimisation in all sectors of our process helping us target waste and reduce it where possible.

They are also working with us on other areas of waste minimisation, most notably plastics and aluminium. They explore markets and assist us with recycling projects. and not always in projects where they will financially benefit for example office paper recycling.

Their invoicing is always spot on, they respond when they say they will, Alan is always at the other end of the phone; responses to requests phoned in direct to the office are always responded to promptly. Alan keeps in touch on a regular basis and will always come to site when needed, and sometimes when he's not! I fear that we may be a high maintenance customer, but they are most certainly a low maintenance supplier. We are very happy with J&G.

St Ives plc is a printing company and it's sites generate a variety of waste streams including plastic, wood and aluminium for recycling and hazardous waste for specialist recovery and/or disposal. J&G Environmental provide a waste management service to all St Ives plc sites in the UK and have done so for a number of years. J&G 'won' the group hazardous waste disposal contract by providing a consistently good service to individual sites in competition with other waste management companies. J&G proved themselves to be far superior to their competitors with respect to price and quality of service.

The service provided includes advice support and assistance to sites with regard to the handling, storage and treatment of waste materials. J&G also carry out regular annual waste audits of each St Ives facility.

The service provided by J&G is prompt and efficient and all St Ives sites are more than satisfied with the service that they receive from J&G. On the rare occasions that there have been issues concerning the collection of waste materials these have been identified and resolved quickly to the satisfaction of all parties concerned.

They keep me abreast of changes in legislation and will offer advice as to best practice even if it will result in a weakening of their income stream.

Some of their solutions to everyday problems are highly innovative and they can often put me in contact with other waste stream experts for any waste problems outside their own expertise.

In conclusion I believe that they have been a breath of fresh air in the printing and allied industries in providing high standards of environmentally friendly solutions to potentially difficult disposal problems.
