Who is involved?
Bournemouth Borough Council is working in partnership with J&G Environmental, AFC Bournemouth, New Earth Solutions, New Milton Sand and Ballast, Castlepoint Shopping Park, Green Energy Centre and W&S Recycling to raise environmental awareness throughout the community, improve quality of life and keep Bournemouth a cleaner, safer, greener place to live and visit.
It is a fantastic opportunity for local community groups to access funding for schemes which improve the local environment, engage children and young people in environmental activities, raise awareness of environmental issues or engage children and young people in healthy activities.
Larry Austin, Strategic Operations Manager at Bournemouth Borough Council said "Green Goals is all about delivering sustainable community benefits by making a difference to where people live and work so we are delighted that this project has been recognised as best practice by the Football League. The community fund is at the heart of our activities in this, our second year of the Partnership and we hope to continue raising the profile of Green Goals."
The partnership is holding a number of awareness events and community clean-up days around Bournemouth during the 2010/11 football season highlighting how people can do their bit to help.
