J&G's customers range from independently-owned SMEs to major newspaper groups. Large or small, they all produce waste at their premises - and all have to dispose of it legally under a Duty of Care imposed upon them under the Environmental Protection Act, Hazardous Waste Regulations and a raft of other legislation.

With the development of environmental awareness, dealing with this aspect of company operation has become a more mainstream and time-consuming business activity, involving the creation of specific waste management systems, a detailed knowledge of the regulations and an understanding of by-product recycling potential.

J&G appreciates that its customers, understandably more interested in their own business activities than in the more prosaic matter of waste disposal, want to be able to rest assured that this aspect of their business will be undertaken skilfully, enthusiastically and according to best practice on their behalf by an outside contractor. They also want to know that a ready source of helpful advice is available at all times, together with a programme of proactive guidance through the complex nature of modern industrial waste disposal.

Understanding these requirements, J&G has placed personal customer service at the heart of its culture and has put in place a dedicated Customer Care department. In doing so, the company's goal has been to revolutionise and professionalise the supply of waste management services at a time when customers are most under pressure to devote precious management time and resources to this aspect of business - and most in need of practical assistance and expert guidance.

J&G strongly believes that every member of its workforce has a part to play in delivering first-class customer service. For this reason, priority is given to staff training, both in-house and by attendance at external seminars in customer care and other relevant subjects. This has been translated into high levels of customer satisfaction (which we constantly monitor), earned us a national Print Industry Supplier of the Year award and attracted many unsolicited commendations from individual customers.
