J&G joins Cleansing Service Group: Your FAQs
J&G Environmental recently reached another major milestone in its history as the UK's most innovative supplier of waste management services to the printing industry when it was acquired by Cleansing Service Group Ltd. These are some of the questions customers have been asking us about the merger.
Who are Cleansing Service Group?
CSG is among the country's most respected and experienced waste management companies. It was established in 1934 and has grown to become one of the largest privately-owned waste management groups in Britain. It operates across many sectors, with a customer base including Government departments, local authorities, utility companies, major supermarket groups and garage chains. Based at Botley, near Southampton, CSG is a national organisation and has pioneered a number of advanced processes for the safe handling of hazardous waste. Its facilities include a waste treatment and processing centre at Cadishead near Manchester, together with three landfill sites. Like J&G, the company places great emphasis on customer relations and care for the environment with a strong emphasis on recycling. For information on CSG's other activities you can check their website at www.csg.co.uk
Will J&G continue to operate as a separate company?
Yes! The familiar J&G name, identity and logo will remain unchanged. Administrative details such as our company registration and VAT numbers remain the same for the moment. However, they will change in the future - but we'll keep all customers fully informed.
Are there any operational changes I should know about?
No, it's business as usual! We'll still continue to operate in the normal way from our Blandford and Cadishead sites, and the way we collect and manage your waste remains unchanged.
Are there any other changes to J&G's senior management?
Yes. Neil Richards, a director of CSG, who has worked with J&G for the past five years will take over as director of the company within the group. However, John Haines (who has been with J&G for 11 years) will continue as our General Manager (a post he's held for the past four years) and will now have overall responsibility for running J&G's entire day-to-day operation.
Do my day-to-day contacts at J&G remain the same?
Pretty much! Generally speaking your contacts at Blandford (in customer care and accounts, for instance) remain unchanged. However, our founders, Steve and Julie Armstrong, will not now be involved in the day to day running of J&G (though Steve maintains his links with the group operation), and James Quick takes over as transport manager following Keith Armstrong's retirement.
Has J&G worked with CSG in the past?
Very much so. The two companies have collaborated for many years, with CSG providing J&G with specialist print waste handling facilities at its Warrington site where huge volumes of print by-products are processed and recycled. The companies have worked together to put in place a whole range of highly-developed collection, technical and processing services specifically designed with the print industry in mind.
How will the merger benefit me?
Both companies enjoy strong reputations for quality of customer service and technical expertise. By combining the considerable resources of two long-established, family-owned companies we'll be able to offer our customers an even greater range of services by creating the most comprehensive waste management facility yet available to the printing industry. Our aim is to provide an expertly-managed total waste management service designed to help customers at a time when waste disposal is becoming an increasingly demanding management function. Watch our website for details of new services we plan to introduce.
How do I know that dealing with a larger organisation won't affect the high standard of personal customer service I've been used to?
Both companies have built their long-standing reputations, and achieved commercial success, by providing first-class customer care facilities based on personal service. J&G and CSG share a trading culture in which customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, value for money and concern for the environment will always be unnegotiable components in the service we provide.
Can I visit or call you to discuss my queries about the new set-up?
Of course! We always welcome exploratory or duty of care visits from our customers at both Blandford and Cadishead. Just call us on 01258 453445 and we'll make the arrangements - or answer your questions - or if you prefer, click here to submit your query by email.
